In this talk we discuss braided $L_\infty$-algebras and their application in the construction of field theories on noncommutative (NC) spaces. We call these NC field theories, braided field theories.
We shall start with some motivation for this particular type of NC deformation after which we will introduce the necessary mathematical tools, L-infinity algebras and the Drinfeld twist. Combining these two methods results in a braided L-infinity algebra and the corresponding braided field theory. We illustrate the formalism by one particular example: $U(1)$ gauge theory coupled to a Dirac fermion, braided electrodynamics. In particular, we comment on differences between our model and previously constructed models of NC electrodynamics.
Let me also take this opportunity to mention forthcoming talks by Rosa Preiss (University of Potsdam) on November 5th, by Claudio Diappiaggi (University of Pavia, Italy) on November 26th, and by Yannic Vargas (University of Potsdam) on December 3rd.
