The Euler Lecture in Sanssouci (link in German) is a Mathematics lecture and a festive occasion. It is held jointly by the Math Institutes of Berlin and Potsdam, as well as local mathematical associations and organizations, and takes place once a year. The event is named after Leonhard Euler (1707-1783). Euler was especially tied to Mathematics in Berlin through his many years as the Director of Mathematical Classes of the Berlin Academy and in the Court of Frederick the Great in Potsdam. The speakers are chosen by an independent jury.
